On the table: Millet

Millet in all its diversity has its origins in China and Japan and in the earliest times was eaten more than rice. And millet used to be widely cultivated in Europe too.
In Africa and Asia, millet still remains one of the principal staple grains.
Because of its role in current and future food security, millet was chosen by the UN as the central theme for 2023.
