Silene is a specialist seed nursery with a passion for unusual annuals and biennials. The range includes familiar classics as well as lesser-known and forgotten species that deserve a place in the garden once again.

In 2024, Sofie Van den Berge took over Silene from Lieve Adriaensens and is continuing the quest for unusual flowers. Some of the seeds are grown organically on the farm, supplemented by carefully selected varieties from specialist seed suppliers.

Silene believes in the power of annuals: they bring colour, movement and biodiversity, and let you experience the full wonder of a plant’s life cycle, from a tiny seed to an abundance of flowers and, finally, new seeds.
