GREEN GLOBE

  • PERENNIALS

perennial nursery GREEN GLOBE is a small nursery, near Aachen, the city of the cathedral.

When the German Armand Kremer was training to be a gardener in Roermond, he was allowed to redesign his parents' garden as part of his training. The garden design consisted of a central path, two large ponds surrounded by various borders, in which many herbaceous perennials found a place. Since then, his love for perennials has grown ever stronger.

Following this result, there was a growing demand among friends for cuttings of various perennial plants. Ten small pots a year eventually became 10,000 pots that Armand produces in his nursery.

Alongside his regular work as a teacher for young people with learning difficulties, who are trained by him to become qualified garden assistants, Armand Kremer invests his free time in searching for new perennials. This yields very interesting species, varying annually depending on the success in his growing fields.
GREEN GLOBE has a range of around 900 perennials, comprising two collections. The first collection consists of around 45 species of Helenium and, since 2010, a Geum collection of around 25 species. In 2015, the collection was recognised in Germany as, and included in, the Plant Collections Network as ‘’Geumsammlung GREEN GLOBE’ This collection will be expanded further with exclusive varieties in the coming years. To this end, he is also in contact with Sue Martin, the national collection holder in Great Britain, whom he recently visited. A number of his own selections have already been introduced, including Geum ’Carlotta’ and ‘Emmie’, as well as Geum rivale ‘Tales of Hex’.
