Her story…
That began with a TV report about saffron.
Followed by days and nights of searching on the internet,
a trip to a saffron farm,
a test in the conservatory of 100 bulbs
and then the decision was made, this is what she wanted to do.
Everything by hand, everything all-natural, back to basics, that's Nathalie.
Her saffron adventure could begin.
In August 2019, she manually planted 15,000 saffron crocus bulbs.
In October of that year … the first harvest.. approximately 16,000 flowers.
They leave the bulbs for 2 years so they can multiply underground.
2023 season… more than 300,000 bulbs across 2,000m².
Planted very close together as this makes harvesting easier.
So it promises to be a busy month of October.
