PÉP. DE LA PRÊLE

  • Kitchen garden
  • PERENNIALS

La Prêle is a small plant nursery specialising in rare or indispensable perennial plants reminiscent of a grandmother's garden, such as auriculas (Primula auricula), annual geraniums (Pelargonium) and old varieties of pinks (Dianthus). There is also a preference for natural gardens with a disorganised mix of colour and scent, where grasses naturally find their place too. Most plants are grown on site and only in small quantities starting from the mother plants, without abundant fertilisation and ‘doping’.

A small wood on the nursery is also ideal for growing shade plants: ferns, Epimedium, Helleborus and other little gems that prefer to do without the sun. More topical would be the bamboo which can form wonderfully solid clumps, with a choice of runners or clump-formers. A small selection of shrubs is also grown, along with original annuals to brighten up summer baskets. This led to the collection of Pelargonium.

As the grower's choice, Céline has previously provided a fine collection of bee-friendly plants. From the impressive collection of these at her nursery, she is now making another selection. Since 2012, she has also managed the ‘Le Potager Gourmand’ collection, taken over from her neighbours, which includes 60 different varieties of tomatoes in the spring.
