CAMELLIA NURSERY GUY VAN RYSSEGHEM
Camellia nursery Van Rysseghem represents the third generation of ornamental plant growers. They have been producing ornamental crops at their nursery since 1895. They are located in the heart of the Flemish ornamental plant region in Lochristi, opposite the “Rozelaer” castle estate. It was there in 1867 that Charles Vuylsteke laid the foundations for the most important Flemish ornamental plant centre, namely Lochristi. Originally, azaleas and rhododendrons were the main products, but since 1997 the emphasis has shifted to Camellias.
To offer as broad a range of Camellia species as possible, their company has specialised in propagating rare and unusual species. To maintain production levels, contacts were established with numerous leading specialised Camellia nurseries in the main Camellia-producing countries.
